Engage Your Community

Here are some ways to increase community involvement in your project:

-Create a brief newsletter to send out to community members about your progress.

-Get connected: use Facebook and email to update members. You can join our national Facebook and Myspace group and get connected to other people who are making a difference around the nation.  

-Talk to your local media contact and ask them to write about what you’re doing.

-Get your project in your school’s daily announcements to remind students and teachers.

-Flyers and posters! Placing these around your community and in your school (make sure you receive permission) can help increase awareness.
