Casa de Sion

When you take in a child who is scared, starving, ill, dirty, and uneducated, and help them to smile, grow, learn, and feel love, the reasons why we try become blindingly obvious.

Location: Panajachel, Guatemala

About the Orphanage

Casa de Sion is an orphanage located in Guatemala, on the shores of Lake Atitlan. The orphanage houses approximately 60 children between the ages of a few days old to 18. The majority of the children at Casa de Sion are handed over by the Federal court system while other children are found abandoned on the street or removed from their families due to abuse, neglect or their parents simply cannot provide for them. Casa de Sion is dedicated to helping to improve the lives of children in the poorest areas of Guatamala. The orphanage provides children with love, shelter, food, a safe haven and a wealth of opportunities including access to education.

Building Program

Casa de Sion recently bought land to relocate the children and build new facilities that will house an orphanage, a school and a clinic in order to make education and health services accessible for the children and the surrounding Mayan communities.

How You Can Help
