List of Youth Grants and Awards

 

Action for Nature Young Eco-Hero Awards – This international award honors youth (ages 6-18) who have established creative projects that protect and improve the environment. Winners receive a $500 cash prize.

 
Angels in Action – Angels in Action awards are given to youth dedicated to service and are leaders in the volunteering community. Winners can receive up $15,000.
 
Barbara Wiedner and Dorothy Vandercook Memorial Peace Scholarship – Grandmothers for Peace International awards up to $500 in scholarships to high school seniors and college freshman based on their involvement in projects dealing with peace and social justice.
 
Be the Change! – Sponsored by Peace Child International, Be the Change! provides funding of up to $1,000 to youth-led projects around the world.
 
Best Buy Scholarships – Best Buy provides scholarships to high school seniors who are active volunteers and are good students.
 
Brick Award – Brick Awards are given out yearly to amazing youth who have made a lasting impact on their community. Winners receive $10,000 (if under 18, $5,000 is allocated as a scholarship). Golden winners an additional $15,000 for their organization.
 
Brower Youth Awards – This award is given to young people who are committed to helping the environment; winners receive a Yosemite camping trip and $3,000.
 
Build-A-Bear Huggable Heroes – The huggable hero award is given to youth under the age of 18 who have made a noticeable difference in the world. Winners receive $10,000.
 
Captain Planet Grant – Provides up to $2,500 to youth with projects that address environmental issues.
 
Clay Aiken Able to Serve Grant - $1,000 grants for disabled youth that support National and Global Youth Service Day projects.
 
The Congressional Award - An award that recognizes volunteer achievement in youth ages 14-23.
 
Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarships – This scholarship provides up to $25,000 to high school juniors involved in service. Must meet the specified academic requirements.
 
Disney Adventure All Stars –This award recognizes youth ages 6-14 who have engaged in service. Winners receive $5,000 for the charity of their choice and an all-expenses paid trip to California.
 
Disney Mini-Grants –Provides grants of $500 to youth with projects for National and Global Youth Service Day.
 
Global Youth Action Award/ Shei'rah Foundation – This award recognizes youth who have made a lasting impact upon their community with $1,000.
 
Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes – Recognizes youth who have become outstanding leaders and shown tremendous courage with awards of $2,000.
 
The Harris Wofford Awards – Sponsored by State Farm companies, the award recognizes youth, organizations, and media who engage other youth in volunteerism.
 
The Heart of America Christopher Reeve Award – This award honors students who have shown a great deal of bravery and have contributed to their community. Winners receive a $1,000 scholarship.
 
Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards – A program that highlights Hispanic youth who will serve as role models for the next generation.

The Hitachi Foundation's Yoshiyama Award – Awarded to high school seniors, the award recognizes a commitment to change with a $5,000 prize.
 
Howard R. Swearer Student Humanitarian Award - This award recognizes college volunteers. Student must attend a Campus Compact member institution.
 
International Award for Young People – Affiliated with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, this award recognizes individuals aged 14-25 for engaging in service and activism in their communities.
 
International Youth Hall of Fame – Recognizes incredible youth while bringing communities to celebrate the positive effects of service.
 
Join Hands Day Excellence Awards - This award is given to registered projects that bring together children and adults in volunteering. Winners receive a $1,000 check.

 

The Kids Hall of Fame – Profiles amazing youth and their achievements.

 
Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarships - Putting the spotlight upon youth who have made significant contributions to their communities, Kohl’s Kids Who Care awards up to $5,000.
 
Mix It Up Grants – The Southern Poverty Law Center funds youth with sustainable ideas and plans to increase tolerance in their community. Grants are $500.
 
NetAid Global Action Award – This award gives $5,000 to youth ages 14-18 who have worked on projects that deal with poverty.
 
New Light Leadership Coalition Excellence in Leadership Awards – Honors students ages 16-25 who have demonstrated leadership in their own community. Winners receive a two year membership to NLLC and an opportunity to speak at a summit.
 
Points of Light - Recognizes one volunteer, age eight and up, per day on the Points of Light website.
 
Presidential Volunteer Service Award - Provides public recognition of youth who have completed a certain number of hours of volunteering.
 
The Prudential Spirit of Community Award– A prestigious award that recognizes youth who have made significant contributions to society. Winners can receive up to $5,000 and a trip to Washington D.C.

Red White and Green Climate Change Grant – This grant provides $500 to youth who wish to implement service- learning project about climate change.
 
State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Award – State Farm gives out one hundred grants of $1,000 yearly to students and teachers who implement service-learning projects on National and Global Youth Service Day.
 
Volvo Adventure w/ United Nations – This award recognizes teams of students from ages 10-16 who are actively working to improve their local environment. Students win a monetary award and a trip to Sweden.
 
Volvo For Life Awards – This award recognizes people who have had a substantial impact upon society.
 
Youth Action Net – Provides grants of up to $500 to youth around the world who wish to start projects improving society.
